When you attempt to synchronize the Inbox between your Handheld PC (H/PC) and desktop computer using Microsoft ActiveSync Service Manager, you may receive the following error message:
Initialization of Microsoft Outlook synchronization service was not successful. Error: 800706BA.


This behavior can occur if you attempt to transfer 10 or more messages.


To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods:

  • Transfer less than 10 messages at once.
  • Restart your desktop computer and then attempt to transfer the messages again.


Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows CE Services version 2.2.
