SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 14, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 is installed on a Vista-based or a Windows 7-based computer. In this situation, Office Outlook 2007 does not support Outlook Anywhere (RPC/HTTP) authentication when you access your mailbox by using smart card-based credentials.

  • You use an IMAP4 account to log on to Office Outlook 2007. Additionally, you configure a Sent Items folder on the IMAP4 server to save sent items. Then, you use Simple MAPI to send an email message in Outlook 2007. In this situation, the sent email message is not saved in the Sent Items folder on the IMAP4 server.

  • When you configure a shared mailbox or a public folder in an Office Outlook 2007 profile, Outlook 2007 stops responding when you reopen it.

Note This issue only occurs after you apply the hotfix package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 978401.

  • The BeforeItemMove event is not triggered if one of the following conditions are true:
    • You delete a meeting item from your calendar in Outlook 2007.
    • You delete an appointment item from To-DoBar in the View menu in Outlook 2007.
    • You delete an item from a folder that you created in Outlook 2007.

  • Office Outlook 2007 crashes when you try to open an attachment that does not have a file name extension.

Note This issue only occurs after you apply the hotfix package that is described in KB article 981735.

  • Office Outlook 2007 crashes when you synchronize contact items from Outlook 2007 to a list in a SharePoint 2007 site.

  • Outlook 2007 may crash when you try to open Office Outlook 2007 while using Extended MAPI to create profiles.

  • You cannot programmatically log on to more than 32 profiles at the same time on a computer that is running Office Outlook 2007.

Note The new limit is now 100 profiles at the same time.

  • When you work in the calendar module in Office Outlook 2007 by using either the Month view or the Week view, the user interface may stop responding or may go blank. Additionally, the Graphics Device Interface (GDI) objects for the Outlook process will be close to 10,000 in the Task Manager.

  • You cannot reply to a meeting request in Office Outlook 2007 when you set the local system language to Turkish.

  • You install an add-in that logs on to the shared MAPI session in Office Outlook 2007. When you exit Office Outlook 2007, the Outlook process does not stop. This issue occurs because the add-in tries to log off from the shared MAPI session by using the MAPI_LOGOFF_SHARED flag.
