SYMPTOMS

When you edit the properties of a network adapter (using Device Manager or 3rd party management tools), unedited network adapters may be paused/restarted with the edited adapter.

CAUSE

When binding protocols to network miniport drivers, a check isn't made to determine if the protocol is already bound, resulting in a re-bind occurring. This causes the adapter to be paused and restarted.

RESOLUTION

Install the latest update for ndis.sys to resolve this issue. The following update was the first to include the necessary update.

A computer that is connected to an IEEE 802.1X authenticated network through a VOIP phone does not connect to the correct network after you resume it from Hibernate mode or Sleep mode
