SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 30, 2011.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you enable the tree view control in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 document library. After you delete a sub-folder in the document library, the plus sign (+) does not appear in the tree view control. Therefore, you cannot expand the collapsed node in the document library tree view control.
  • Consider the following scenario. You set the system time zone to (GMT+02:00) Amman in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Then, you visit a calendar on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 team site. You locate April, 2011. In this scenario, the calendar view breaks.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You install the June, 2011 cumulative update from Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2544398 on a Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007 server.
    • You add a Summary Link Web Part to a site collection.
    • You add a link to the Web Part and try to save the Web Part.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

The security validation for this page is invalid.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You set some file properties in a document that uses Office Open XML Format.
    • You upload the document to a document library in Office SharePoint Server 2007.
    • You open the document from the document library.

In this scenario, the document is corrupted.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You enable the variations feature for a site collection in an Office SharePoint Server 2007 farm.
    • You delete a site from the site collection.
    • You perform an incremental content deployment in the farm.

In this scenario, the deleted site is still in the farm.
  • Assume that you perform a content deployment in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 farm. In this situation, W3wp.exe may consume 100 percent of CPU resources on the web front end servers.
  • W3wp.exe consumes excessive CPU resources when you use nonstandard ASP.NET codes. This occurs when you create a new page on an Office SharePoint Server 2007 site. Therefore, other users cannot access the SharePoint site.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 in Domain A.
    • You have a separate domain, Domain B, and this contains several Active Directory user accounts.
    • You migrate the user accounts together with their Security Identifier (SID) history from Domain B to Domain A.
    • You disable the migrated user accounts in Domain A.
    • You grant a migrated user account permission to access a document on a SharePoint site in Domain A. For example, you select a migrated user account from SharePoint People Picker and grant user account permission to access a document.
    • A user logs on to the SharePoint site by using the migrated user account and then tries to access the document.

In this scenario, the user cannot access the document.
