Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 fixes in one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or SQL Server 2012 update release.

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a perspective of a cube in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Analysis Services (SSAS 2008 R2) or in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012).
  • You run an MDX query against the perspective, and the query returns a cellset.
  • You try to update the cellset.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Internal Error: An Unexpected Exception occurred.

Note This issue does not occur in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services (SSAS 2008).
