You may receive one of two errors when you try to sync or play a video file on your Windows Phone 8:
- Syncing a video from your computer to your Windows Phone 8:
Oops, something went wrong
Protected files won’t play on the phone, so we didn’t add this one.
- Playing a video that was copied to your Windows Phone 8 or your phone's SD card:
We are unable to confirm the media usage rights for this content.
The video is protected with Digital Rights Management (DRM). Windows Phone 8 currently doesn't support videos that use DRM.
Windows Phone 8 supports video without DRM, and many streaming apps are available in the
Windows Phone Store
. If you'd like to see video DRM support added, please go to the
Windows Phone Feature Suggestions
website and make requests for future releases.
To learn more about playing videos, go to the
Music and videos FAQ
page on the Windows Phone 8 How-to website.
