RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, when you initiate a search, click Search Options, click Advanced Options and then click Search System Folders. You can then search the system folders for all files.

STATUS

This behavior is the default behavior.

MORE INFORMATION

You may be unable to view files in system folders even if you have completed the procedure described in the "Resolution" section of this article. This issue can occur if you have not enabled the Show hidden files and folders option. To enable this option:
  1. Double-click User_name's Computer, and then click Folder Options on the Tools menu.
  2. Click the View tab, and then click Show hidden files and folders.

NOTE: It is also recommended that you clear the Hide Protected Operating System Files option.
