SYMPTOMS

The Visual Studio .NET integrated development environment (IDE) stops responding (hangs) or disappears when you rest the pointer over code in a C/C++ project.

CAUSE

When you rest the pointer over code, the Quick Info feature tries to parse the code to display tooltips about the construct that is under the pointer. The parsing code causes this problem.
