SYMPTOMS

If you use Sysprep.exe to image Windows XP clients and join them to a domain, duplicate accounts are created in Active Directory for the same computer accounts. The Netsetup.log file shows that the join process was failing for these clients on the initial join. This forced them to contact other domain controllers, and this created the duplicate accounts. An example of the Netsetup.log error message is:
04/23 11:27:23 NetpJoinDomain: status of creating account: 0x0 04/23 11:27:23 NetpLdapBind: ldap_bind failed on \\DCName.Domain_name.com: 49: Invalid Credentials
04/23 11:27:23 ldap_unbind status: 0x0 04/23 11:27:23 NetpSetDnsHostNameAndSpn: NetpLdapBind failed: 0x52b
