STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.

MORE INFORMATION

On Windows XP Service Pack 1, GPMC requires that hotfix 326469 is installed. Each language version of GPMC includes the hotfix in that language, and GPMC Setup will only install the hotfix if the language of the operating system matches the language of GPMC. If the languages do not match, GPMC Setup will quit, and you must install the hotfix before you can continue.

GPMC requires Gpedit.dll version 5.1.2600.1185. GPMC Setup prompts you to install Windows XP hotfix 326469 if it is not already present. This hotfix updates your version of Gpedit.dll to version 5.1.2600.1186.
