When all the following conditions are true, clients connected at the Identify level receive an "Access Denied" result for each subsequent call:
- You create a program that includes a decoupled provider.
- The decoupled provider stops responding.
- You restart the provider.
When the .NET application unexpectedly quits, the .NET Framework cannot call the Unregister()
function for the decoupled provider. Therefore, the decoupled provider registration persists. When the client tries to subscribe to
the events, it receives a remote procedure call (RPC) error ("RPC Server Unavailable"), and then registration fails
with an "Access Denied" result.

To apply this hotfix, you must have Windows XP Service Pack 1 installed on your computer.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
