When you preinstall Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP Home Edition SP1 (integrated version), Setup
may stop responding in GUI-mode setup with about 34 minutes remaining.
There is at least one known
cause of this issue: In Windows XP SP1, there is a bug in the Usbhub.sys driver that causes the driver to stop responding when a universal serial bus (USB) mouse or
USB keyboard is attached to the system during GUI-mode setup.
To resolve this issue, a hotfix has been
created for Usbhub.sys. This hotfix also addresses other issues.
