When you view the processor information under System
Information on a system with hyperthreading-enabled processors, the
distribution of physical and logical processors may be reported
For example, on an IBM eServer x440 system with 16
processors, the number of processors is reported as 4 physical processors with
8 logical processors each. The correct configuration for this system is 16
physical processors with 2 logical processors each.
This problem may occur when you run the IBM eServer x440
system in a 16-way configuration.
