If you press SHIFT to override the automatic logon setting during Windows XP startup on a computer that has the AutoAdminLogon registry value turned on, the Security Attention Sequence (SAS)
dialog box may not appear as expected. Note
SAS is designed to permit users to enter their own account credentials and therefore to override the automatic logon setting that is configured in the computer's registry.
