When you try to connect to an HTTPS Web site in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, the Web page may not completely download.
This problem may occur after you install Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (MS04-004) that is also included in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2), and the following conditions are true:
- You have selected the Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections check box on the Advanced tab. (To locate this tab, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.)
- You use a proxy server that uses NTLM authentication.

To resolve this problem, install security update 867801 (MS04-025).

Because of file dependencies, this hotfix requires Internet
Explorer 5 Service Pack 2.
To work around this problem, do not use the Use
HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections
setting. To view or change this
setting, click Internet Options
on the Tools
menu, click the Advanced
tab, and then scroll to the HTTP 1.1 settings
Microsoft has confirmed that
this is a problem in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5.
