SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, you use the Japanese version of the Input Method Editor (IME). You turn on Kana mode to enter text from a specific character set. However, the IME does not return to normal mode after you enter the text.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
