Set the User's Communications in Payroll DD Setup (02.951.00) to C:\WINDOWS\NotePad.

1. Direct Deposit requires a destination for the ACH file to be read now or sent later. In some cases such as demos and testing, the file may not actually need to be sent to a bank. In these instances, the file can be sent to a disk and disregarded.

2. This method can also be used if the workstation running Payroll does not have direct access to the internet. The ACH file is generated on a disk and the disk is then taken to another workstation for transmission to the bank.

Correction Steps

1. In Payroll DD Setup (02.951.00) - ACH File Setup, set the Path to ACH/Script files: to C:\SOL4.

2. In Payroll DD Setup - Communications Options, set the options as follows:

Communications Type: User's Communications
User's Communications: C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE

(where C:\WINDOWS\NOTEPAD.EXE is the path for the NotePad Accessories program)

3. When the ACH file is generated, it will be sent to a NotePad file rather than searching for a internet connection.
