While a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) is on standby or in hibernation, you replace a 16-bit PC card with a new 16-bit PC card. After you resume the computer from hibernation or from standby, the new PC card is not detected. Additionally, Device Manager displays the old PC card with a yellow exclamation mark next to the name of the card.

This problem occurs if the old PC card and the new PC card have different voltage values.
