SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office 2003 issue that is fixed in the Office 2003 post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated April 26, 2006.

INTRODUCTION

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you modify a hyperlink in an Office 2003 file and then click Browse for File in the Edit Hyperlink dialog box, you receive the following error message:
    The folder 'path\filename' isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the filename contains a / or \.
    Additionally, the following symptoms occur:
    • When you click OK on the error message, the Link to File dialog box appears.
    • The Look in box in the Link to File dialog box points to a folder that is one level higher than the path that is specified by the hyperlink.
