This article describes the following about this hotfix release:
  • The issues that are fixed by this hotfix package
  • The prerequisites for installing the hotfix package

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use SQL Server 2005 to browse a relational online analytical processing (ROLAP) dimension, you may experience one or more of the following problems:
  • An inefficient SQL query is generated.
  • The query uses the SLICE clause together with the incorrect attribute.
  • The query does not use the DISTINCT clause or the WHERE clause to restrict the number of rows that are returned.
Note When this problem occurs, the time that is required to browse the ROLAP dimension is increased. This problem is most significant if the following conditions are true:
  • The dimension has many rows.
  • The attribute that you want to browse only has some distinct values.
