INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to install Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange on an active/passive cluster.

Important The base version of Microsoft Antigen 9 for Exchange (build 9.00.1055) has a known issue in detecting volume mount point information. To correct this issue, a new installer is included in later versions that resolves drive detection issues and allows for command-line switches that you can use to specify drive letters. We recommend that you install the latest version of Antigen 9.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are using mount point drives, you must specify the location where you want to install the Antigen 9 cluster folder on the Installing Antigen on and Active/passive Cluster setup page during installation. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Installing Antigen on and Active/passive Cluster page, click the drive letter. For example, click D.
  2. Type the mount point information followed by the Antigen database directory in the Cluster Folder box. For example, type Mpd\AntigenCluster. Mpd is the name of the mount point drive.
If you are installing Antigen 9 on a simple shared cluster drive, you do not have to change the default location. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Installing Antigen on and Active/passive Cluster setup page, click the drive letter. For example, click D.
  2. Make sure that the Antigen database directory AntigenCluster is included in the Cluster Folder box.

Antigen 9 for Exchange pre-installation information

The installation files of Antigen 9 for Exchange (build 9.00.1055.64) that are provided by Microsoft Customer Support Services are from the evaluation version. You must have the license file from the original Antigen for Exchange 9.0 to change the Antigen package to a licensed version. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Extract the contents of the Antigen 9 for Exchange self extracting package that you downloaded from the Sybari or MVLS Web site to a folder that is named 9.00.1055.
  2. Extract the contents of the Microsoft Antigen 9 for Exchange package that is provided by Microsoft CSS Support to a folder that is named "9.00.1055 Patch."
  3. Copy the License.cfg file that is inside the 9.00.1055 folder, and then paste it inside the "9.00.1055 Patch" folder. You must overwrite the existing License.cfg file that is inside the "9.00.1055 Patch" folder.
These steps convert the evaluation version of Antigen 9 for Exchange to a licensed version of Antigen 9 for Exchange.
