SYMPTOMS

You have a 32-bit application that is running on one of the following Microsoft Windows operating systems:
  • A 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • A 64-bit version of Windows Vista
  • A 64-bit version of Windows XP
The application uses the ResetDC function to modify the DEVMODE data structure. When you use raw mode to print a document in the application, the private data of the DEVMODE data structure may be corrupted.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

Note If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows XP, use the Windows Server 2003-based hotfix to resolve this issue. Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP share the same binaries.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
