Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to open a PowerPoint 2007 presentation from a Web site, PowerPoint 2007 starts. However, only a blank presentation is visible.
  • When you try to open a PowerPoint 2007 presentation from a Web site, PowerPoint 2007 starts. However, nothing else happens.
  • When you try to open a PowerPoint 2007 presentation from a Web site, you receive the following error message:
    Internet Explorer cannot download the file
  • When opening a PowerPoint 2007 presentation from a Web site causes a GET request or a POST request, the Web application experiences problems because unnecessary GET request that have no data occur.

    Note This problem occurs when the Web site uses forms authentication.
