SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • As an administrator, you apply the Folder Redirection Group Policy object (GPO) to redirect a folder to a network share. For example, you redirect the "My Documents" folder.
  • You click to select the Move the contents of Folder_Name to the new location check box.
  • You apply this GPO on Windows XP-based or on Windows Server 2003-based client computers.
  • You change the Domain Name System (DNS) path for the network share.
In this scenario, the redirected folder is empty when the GPO is reapplied.

This issue may occur when a temporary network problem happens or when the volume quota that you have assigned to users is insufficient.
