SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation project, the Unload method may stop responding (hang). This problem may occur when a Replicator activity is inside a TransactionScope activity.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because a parallel Replicator activity does not receive a Closed signal from an inner Code activity.

This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • The Windows Workflow Foundation project contains two or more nested ActivityExecutionContext (AEC) switches.
  • The innermost AEC switch is executed in an atomic transaction.

RESOLUTION
