MORE INFORMATION

If you rename a folder when you are offline, the change is sent to the server as a "delete/create" operation when you synchronize files. For example, if you rename a directory that contains files and other subfolders when you are offline, the following sequence occurs when Offline Folders later synchronizes with the server:
  1. Everything in the renamed directory is written to the server under the new directory name. This includes all file data.
  2. The files and folders that are under the original folder name on the server are deleted from the server.
This functionality may not be suitable for situations in which cached folders that contain lots of data are renamed when a client is offline.
