Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You connect a Terminal Services session to a terminal server that is running Windows Server 2008.
  • Terminal Services Easy Print is enabled on the terminal server.
  • You print a document to a redirected printer in the Terminal Services session.
  • The document contains both portrait-oriented pages and landscape-oriented pages.
In this scenario, some pages are printed in the incorrect orientation. Specifically, all the pages are printed in the orientation of the first page. Additionally, the pages that have the opposite orientation from the first page are clipped or shrunk to fit the incorrect orientation.

Note This problem occurs only when you use Terminal Services Easy Print.

Resolution

Hotfix information

Note To work together with Terminal Services Easy Print, the client computer must have Terminal Services client 6.1 and the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 installed. This hotfix addresses the problem in the .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 on systems that are running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have one of the following prerequisites installed on the computer:
  • The .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1
  • The .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
