On a Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008-based computer that has multiple processors installed, you may encounter a system crash problem. When this problem occurs, you may receive a Stop error message which resembles the following:

*** STOP: 0x00000101 (Prameter1, Prameter2, Prameter3, Prameter4)

This problem occurs because of a race condition in the system interprocessor interrupt (IPI) mechanism in Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.

To resolve this problem, install the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 967170.
