Microsoft released an update (version 4.2) to the Help files for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (on-premise only). This update was released on September 26, 2008. This article describes this update.
The Help files for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 have been updated with bug fixes, with additions that are based on customer input, and with information that was not available when Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 was first released.

- The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Client for Outlook with Offline Access version of this update must be installed by a user who is a member of the local Administrators group on the computer.
The server and language pack versions of this update must be installed by a user who is a member of the local Administrators group on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.
- The language pack version of this update applies to both Microsoft Dynamics CRM server and Microsoft Dynamics CRM client.
There are no prerequisites to install this update.
You do not have to restart the computer after you install this update.
Temporary Internet files
All Microsoft Dynamics CRM users must delete the files in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Users must take this action to make sure that they see the updated Help files and not a previous Help page from their cache. Note
If you are the administrator of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server on which this update is installed, you must advise users to delete the files in the Temporary Internet Files folder.
To delete the files in the Temporary Internet Files folder, follow these steps:
- Start Windows Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- On the General tab, click Delete Files.
- In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box, and then click OK.
To remove this update, use the Add or Remove Programs
item in Control Panel.
