SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
  • You have other computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
  • Both of computers are in a same workgroup.
In this scenario, the Credentials Manager (CredMan) service does not save credentials when you try to map a drive by using a net use command together with the /savecred option.

Note This behavior differs from Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP.
