Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2000 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install SQL Server 2000 on a 64-bit Itanium architecture-based (IA-64) computer.
  • You install security update MS09-004, which is described in the following KB article:
960083   (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960083/ ) MS09-004: Description of the security update for SQL Server 2000 QFE and for MSDE 2000: February 10, 2009
  • You run a DELETE statement or an UPDATE statement on a table that contains a foreign key constraint.
In this scenario, the query fails and an access violation occurs.
