INTRODUCTION

This article describes a hotfix that resolves several configuration issues in Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2010 Team Foundation Server (TFS) Beta 2. This hotfix resolves the following issues in TFS 2010 Beta 2:
  • When the configuration wizard detects whether a 32-bit version of SQL Server Express Edition is installed. the wizard returns an incorrect result.
  • The Advanced configuration wizard does not stop installing SQL Server Express Edition.
  • When you run the configuration wizard and then the SQL Server Express Edition installation process returns a code 3010 "reset" error, the next configuration wizard is unexpectedly blocked.
  • The installation and configuration of SQL Server Express Edition are not supported on domain controllers.
  • TFS 2010 Beta 2 incorrectly determines whether a computer is a member of a domain or a member of a workgroup.
  • Cross-domain identities do not work as expected.
Important Install the following hotfix after you complete the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) setup phase of the installation process but before you start the Team Foundation Server configuration tool.
