SYMPTOMS

Assume that you are running the Import Organization Wizard in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. When you use the Manually Map Users option to map a user from an external trusted domain, the Import Organization Wizard crashes. Additionally, if you run the debugger, you receive the following error message:
Exception type: System.InvalidCastException Message: Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.Crm.Tools.Admin.SearchExceptionError' to type 'Microsoft.Crm.Tools.Admin.SearchSuccess'

RESOLUTION

This problem is fixed in the latest cumulative update rollup for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
