SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You are in an Active Directory domain environment.
  • You implement the feature of folder redirection on a client computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
  • You redirect several folders. For example, you redirect folders such as Desktop Documents and Favorites to a file server.
  • You allow for the client to configure the folders that should be available offline by using the Group Policy "Do not automatically make redirected folders available offline".
In this scenario, the client receives the following error message when they try to delete a folder that contains content:
This operation can only be performed when you are connected to the network.

Additionally, the folder cannot be deleted.
