I am trying to enter a cash receipt transaction in Receivables (Transactions - Sales - Cash Receipts) with multicurrency. When I select a currency other than a Euro denomination currency (my functional currency is the Euro) I get the following message:

The default rate type is not assigned to an exchange table for the selected currency. Do you want to continue?

All the exchange tables I have set up are assigned all rate types. When I click the Continue button, the Exchange Rate Entry window opens and again when I try to select a rate type, I receive the following error message:

This rate type ID has not been set up for use with this currency.

1. Go to Setup - System - Multicurrency Access.
2. Make sure that you have this particular currency selected and you should see all your exchange tables listed in the Exchange Table IDs window.
3. Select each table and make sure that the company in question has access to each table.

You may have the exchange table set up for the currency but it will not recognize the table unless you grant access.
