Question:

I have a batch with a batch comment of Check link on it. I'm not sure what this batch is. What does the comment mean?

Answer:

Dynamics puts this comment in the description when the Batch Held in Posting steps are done. In other words, at some point in time a posting interruption occurred causing a batch to be hung. The SY00800 file(s) in the System folder and the SY00500 file(s) in the Company folder were recreated and Reconcile of General Ledger batches and Checklinks in other modules was done to make the problem batch become available. This comment - Check links or Check links batch comment is then put in the description for all batches recovered through this process. Print an edit list of this batch. Determine if the information needs to be posted or if it has already been posted in the system. If the information is not needed, delete the batch. If the information in the batch is needed, post the batch. (Note: If this batch is one that was originally hung in the system it may be damaged. Delete the batch and reenter the information.)
